Customer advocate

I believe in the power of loyal customers. Customers will advocate for the product if they love it. But someone needs to stand in theirs shoes and advocate for the their needs first. It means understanding their journey, learning how exactly a product can help them, and what I can do to enhance their experience with the brand. If you stand in their shoes, they will eventually wear your hat.

Bringing Diversity to the Table

Having studied literature and lived in three different places - Hong Kong, London and Seattle, I have an open mindset that empathizes with the pain points of different customers. Human experience is greatly shaped by one’s surrounding environments, technology and culture. A great customer experience is created through understanding one’s behavioral psychology, embracing technology and delivering value to improve one’s life.

Diversity is equally important in workplace. People from different backgrounds can bring various valuable perspectives, which can increase creativity and lead to faster problem solving. That’s why I’ve served as a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) ambassador, advocating the importance of inclusiveness.

Writing with purpose

I created this website to share my learning journey in the business world and tips on boosting productivity as a marketer. I believe that business is not just business. We’re all human beings. There’re times that we feel overwhelmed at work, times that we have to deal with personal issues and times we fail. It’s through investing in ourselves and striving to be better every day that we can serve our community better.

MY past life

I was born and raised in Hong Kong. In college, I majored in comparative literature and received my master’s degree from University College London (UCL). I started my career as an English teacher in Hong Kong. While I was using commercials as a means to teach students how to appeal to one’s emotions, I realized that teachers and marketers share the same mission - motivate your audience to take action. After moving to Seattle in 2016, I decided to give it a go and never looked back.
